Therapy for Children & Teens

Support for anxiety, school stress, emotional regulation, self-esteem, family transitions, and mental health challenges throughout Minneapolis, St. Louis Park, Edina, Plymouth, and the West Metro.

Growing Up Isn't Always Easy

Childhood and adolescence can be incredibly meaningful — and incredibly difficult. As children and teens grow, they face emotional, social, academic, and developmental challenges that can sometimes feel overwhelming for both them and their families. Anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, school stress, trauma, social difficulties, and family transitions can all impact a young person’s emotional well-being and sense of self.

At Integration Psychotherapy and Wellness, we provide a warm, supportive, and developmentally informed approach to therapy for children and adolescents. We believe young people thrive when they feel safe, understood, and empowered to express themselves openly. Our goal is to help children and teens build emotional resilience, strengthen coping skills, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.

Our Approach

We understand that therapy with children and adolescents looks different than therapy with adults. Building trust and connection is essential. Our clinicians create a space that feels approachable, engaging, and emotionally safe while helping young clients develop insight, coping strategies, and healthier ways of communicating and managing emotions.

Depending on the age and needs of the client, therapy may include:

  • Talk therapy

  • Play-based interventions

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Mindfulness and emotional regulation skills

  • Trauma-informed therapy

  • Family collaboration and parent support

  • Strengths-based and relational approaches

We also work closely with parents and caregivers when appropriate, recognizing that family support is often an important part of a child or teen’s growth and healing.

Supporting the Whole Family

When a child or teen is struggling, it often impacts the entire family system. Parents may feel worried, unsure how to help, or emotionally exhausted trying to navigate challenges at home or school. Therapy can provide guidance, support, and practical tools to help families communicate more effectively and better support one another.

Our aim is not simply to reduce problematic behaviors or symptoms, but to help young people feel more connected, confident, emotionally supported, and capable.
